The absolute locations
of bases within a 16S rRNA gene sequence, relative to the complete
gene, are frequently calculated with reference to the 1542-base Escherichia coli 16S rRNA gene
sequence. Absolute positions are needed to calculate the Deviation from
Expectation
values used by this program.
