The International Nucleotide Sequence
Database Collaboration (INSDC) ensures that data is exchanged
between these three databases on a daily basis; as a consequence all
three databases, in effect, hold the same data.
In addition, the following repositories specialise in compiling and
annotating 16S rRNA sequences, as well as providing additional features
including specialist tools for analysis, and taxonomical information:
